High stakes and higher tension: on the October 27 WWE Raw, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair put the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the line against Lyra Valkyria and Bayley, as a jarring miscue between Bliss and Valkyria threatened to derail an otherwise electric showdown.

WWE Raw on Oct 27 had one of those matches that remind you live TV is held together with tape, timing, and in this case, a very fast-thinking Alexa Bliss. The Women’s Tag Team titles were on the line, Bliss and Charlotte Flair defending against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and a very specific gear snafu almost derailed a genuinely fun fight.

The match that nearly got stuck together (literally)

Midway through, Valkyria went to bodyslam Bliss and things got weird: a strand of Valkyria’s hair snagged on a spike from Bliss’s top. She completed the slam, but her hair stayed hooked, making the cover awkward-to-impossible. Bliss, living up to the Five Feet of Fury nickname, clocked what was happening and peeled off the upper layer of her top on the fly, freeing Valkyria so the match could keep moving. Honestly, a very savvy save in a spot that could have gone sideways fast.

Charlotte immediately kept the champs alive by breaking up Valkyria’s follow-up pin attempt. Bayley and Valkyria poured it on for a bit after that, but the tide turned once Flair drilled Bayley with a high kick.

Yes, Bliss has dealt with gear drama before

Plenty of WWE names (Eva Marie among them) have had wardrobe malfunctions that were just bad luck. Bliss once had one that was entirely self-inflicted: she hit the ramp with her shorts on backwards. Former Divas Champion Mickie James spotted it, flagged her down, and Bliss sprinted back during a commercial break to fix it before the match resumed.

Bliss later said she accidentally walked to the ring with her shorts on backwards, and Mickie James basically saved the day and sent her to fix it during the break.

How the finish shook out

  • Flair dropped Bayley with a high kick and snapped on the Figure 8.
  • Valkyria tried to break the submission, but Bliss wiped her out with a Twisted Bliss, sending Valkyria to the floor.
  • The champs then hit a double Natural Selection on their challengers.
  • Flair, the legal competitor, got the three-count to retain the Women’s Tag Team titles for her and Bliss.
  • Celebration was short-lived: the Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kairi Sane, stormed in and laid out both teams.

Bottom line: even with a partial wardrobe malfunction in the middle of a title defense, Bliss kept her head, Flair closed the deal, and then Asuka and Kairi made sure no one left smiling. Feels like the champs just found their next problem.
