The main highlights from the series' latest episode.

The second season of Cruel Summer introduces a brand-new story. With original characters and storylines, the uniquely structured narrative appeals to viewers who may not typically enjoy teen dramas by offering an imminently compelling story in which you quickly become invested in both the plot and the characters' misfortunes.

So far, only four episodes have aired. The most recent one revealed more details about the complex plot, introducing new twists and exploring established threads. Yet, some revelations were more important than others.

Here are the five biggest reveals from episode 4 of Cruel Summer's second season.

5. Megan disposes of a blood-soaked sheet

The episode begins by showing Megan secretly throwing away a blood-soaked sheet from her floral bed linen set. Isabella watches Megan dispose of a neatly closed trash bag in the dead of night, gets curious and peeks inside the bag once Megan is gone.

4. Luke’s plan to run away

As the season progresses, we learn more about Luke's disappearance and subsequent murder. Under duress, Megan reveals that Luke was planning an escape. While withholding some details from the police, she tells Debbie that she was supposed to pick him up and drop him off at the station, but he never showed up.

3. Collapse of Steve’s business

While Megan and Debbie stay at Steve's due to a major problem with the pipes at their place, he tells them that his business went under because of Luke's infamous sex tape – investors withdrew their proposal.

Perhaps this gave Steve a reason to be angry with Luke, which explains the boy's fixation on running away.

2. Isabella and Luke may have had an affair

While at Luke's, Megan finds Isabella's one-piece bathing suit among Luke's belongings. Naturally, jealousy flares up, and Megan accuses her friend of having an affair with Luke. Given that the two dated at the beginning of season 2, it's not necessarily impossible.

1. Megan may have been pregnant

Arguably, the most significant revelation in the fourth episode is that Megan may have been pregnant. We know little about whether it was real, the bloody sheet may suggest a possible miscarriage, and we have no idea who the father would have been. However, this development makes the story even more interesting.

The next chapter is scheduled for release on 26 June.
