Body-swap chaos returns as Disney+ streams Freakier Friday on November 12, 2025, reuniting Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in the sequel to the 2003 hit.

Missed the body-swap reunion in theaters? Disney+ just circled a date. Freakier Friday, the Lindsay Lohan/Jamie Lee Curtis sequel, starts streaming November 12, 2025. It did well on the big screen this summer; now it is headed to your couch.

When to watch

Disney+ made it official on October 28 with a cheeky social post that read, "No FREAKING way! Disney's Freakier Friday is streaming on Disney+ November 12." So yes, the date is set: November 12, 2025.

What this one is about

We pick up 22 years after the 2003 movie. Lohan and Curtis are back as Anna and her mom, Tess. Anna now has a daughter, Harper, plus a soon-to-be stepdaughter, Lily, thanks to her engagement to Eric Reyes. As the two families try to blend, the universe decides it is not done with them yet. The setup is multigenerational this time, and the whole "what if lightning struck twice" thing is not subtle.

Cast roll call

  • New cast: Julia Butters as Harper Coleman (Anna's daughter); Sophia Hammons as Lily Reyes (Anna's soon-to-be stepdaughter); Manny Jacinto as Eric Reyes (Anna's fiance and Lily's dad); Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Ella (a singer collaborating with Anna).
  • Returning from the 2003 film: Mark Harmon as Ryan Volvo (yes, still an incredible character name), Christina Vidal Mitchell as Maddie, Haley Hudson as Peg, Chad Michael Murray as Jake Austin, Lucille Soong as Grandma Chiang, Stephen Tobolowsky as Mr. Elton Bates, and Rosalind Chao as Mama P. Plus, of course, Lohan and Curtis front and center again.

Who is behind the camera

Nisha Ganatra directs from a screenplay by Jordan Weiss. Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristin Burr, and Andrew Gunn produce. Lindsay Lohan, Nathan Kelly, and Ann Marie Sanderlin are executive producers.

How it did in theaters

Released in August, Freakier Friday pulled in $153 million worldwide on an estimated $45 million budget. On Rotten Tomatoes, it is sitting at 74% from 224 reviews. Over at ComingSoon, Jonathan Sim gave it a 7 out of 10 and called it:

"pure joy from start to finish."
