Lewis Pullman Drops Fresh Sentry Filming Update for Avengers: Doomsday
Lewis Pullman has wrapped his Avengers: Doomsday scenes, the Thunderbolts* Sentry revealed.
Lewis Pullman just wrapped his work on Avengers: Doomsday, and his update is very much a keep-your-expectations-in-check kind of thing. It also raises a few questions about how Marvel plans to use one of its most dangerous heroes.
What Pullman said (and what it might mean)
On Oct 27, 2025, OnTheRedCarpet shared on X that Pullman has finished filming his scenes for Avengers: Doomsday. He kept it simple and a little cryptic:
"Unless I get another call... I’m just along for the ride."
That line is doing a lot of work. Fans immediately started reading into the timing, because principal photography on Doomsday reportedly ran from April 2025 to September 2025. If Pullman wrapped in late October, that suggests one of two things: he came in late (think tags, connective tissue, or scheduling quirks), or he was part of reshoots. Either way, it is interesting that he was still on set a month after the main shoot ended.
Reminder: Pullman is Marvel’s Sentry now
Pullman made his MCU entrance as the Sentry in Thunderbolts* and is carrying that over into Doomsday. If you’re not deep into the character: Robert Reynolds is the Sentry, a hero with god-tier power. His flip side, the Void, is basically a living catastrophe. That duality is the whole problem. He’s both the bomb and the guy trying to defuse it.
Enter Doctor Doom (and why this pairing is a powder keg)
The chatter around Doomsday points to Doctor Doom being a major player, with a lot of buzz claiming he’s being played by Robert Downey Jr. If that’s what Marvel is doing, pairing Doom with Sentry is a fascinating (and dangerous) move. Doom is the definition of opportunistic, and the Void is exactly the sort of darkness a character like him would try to exploit. At the same time, the Sentry is one of the few heroes with the power to actually stop Doom. It’s the ultimate love-hate super-relationship: Doom could use Sentry as a weapon, and Sentry might be the only thing standing in his way.
That’s why Pullman’s 'I’m just along for the ride' lands a little ominous. If Sentry is a major chess piece in Doomsday, fans are understandably anxious about how far Marvel pushes him — and how much of him is left when the dust settles.
