A viral clip has the internet doubled over, hailed by viewers as the funniest thing they’ve ever seen.

Letterboxd just crossed a massive milestone, and the movie that pushed it over the line is... not exactly what anyone would put on their bingo card. It is, in fact, 'Jumanji: The Next Level'.

What happened

The movie-logging app announced on Twitter that it has officially hit three billion films marked as watched. The post went up on October 24, 2025, and it did not take long for people to ask the obvious question: which movie was number 3,000,000,000? Letterboxd answered: 'Jumanji: The Next Level'. Honestly, kind of perfect.

'Letterboxd has now joined the Three Billion Watched Club.'

When a user replied 'I really hope this is true because that's hilarious,' Letterboxd shot back: 'It is.'

The replies were pure chaos

  • 'This is the funniest s*** I have ever seen.'
  • 'Could you lie about this instead.'
  • 'We really must atone at 4 billion.'
  • One user jokingly suggested the nuclear option: 'delete the app and start over.'

Quick refresher on 'Jumanji: The Next Level' (2019)

Released in 2019, it follows the hit 2017 reboot 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' and brings back the core crew: Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Kevin Hart. The setup this time: Spencer dives back into the Jumanji game, and his friends — Martha, Fridge, and Bethany — jump in after him. The twist is the game itself is glitching and fighting back, which means new rules, unexpected bodies, and a lot more danger than last time.

How it was received

On Rotten Tomatoes, it sits at 72% with critics and 87% with audiences. The critical gist: it keeps the key stuff that worked in the previous film while mixing in enough new bits to keep it fun. GamesRadar+ gave it three stars, noting that some of the shine had worn off since the last round, but it still delivers a sturdy, crowd-pleasing sequel with plenty of laughs and big swings.

So yes, the three-billionth 'watched' on Letterboxd belongs to 'Jumanji: The Next Level'. I respect the chaos.
