Wonder Woman looks set to make her DCU debut in Man of Tomorrow, James Gunn’s follow-up to 2025’s Superman with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult returning.

Sounds like Wonder Woman might show up in the DCU sooner than expected — and not in her own movie. The breadcrumbs point to Diana making her debut in James Gunn's Man of Tomorrow.

Quick refresher: What is Man of Tomorrow?

Man of Tomorrow is the follow-up to 2025's Superman and is directed by James Gunn for DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. David Corenswet is back as Superman/Clark Kent, Nicholas Hoult returns as Lex Luthor, and this time Brainiac is the main villain — that part has been confirmed by TheWrap. The hook: Superman and Lex have to begrudgingly team up to handle a threat bigger than either of them.

Frank Grillo is also reprising his role as Rick Flag Sr. The movie is dated for July 9, 2027.

Where does Wonder Woman fit into this?

There is a Wonder Woman movie in development, but it does not have a release date. Up to now, it wasn't clear whether Diana would first appear there or pop up in someone else's story.

The casting clue that has everyone connecting dots

Nexus Point News says the production is casting a new female hero for Man of Tomorrow, and the description is... pretty on the nose.

A 'new female hero' is being cast, described as in her late twenties with an edge, a warrior with a strong physique — and there is a height requirement favoring taller actresses.

Put all that together and, yeah, it screams Wonder Woman. Fans have been asking to see her in the DCU, and this matches her vibe more than most. The outlet does float two other possibilities — Big Barda or Black Canary — but the height note is particularly telling. Gunn has even talked before on Threads about how height factors into casting, which makes that detail stand out even more here.

So, is Diana actually in it?

Nothing official yet, so treat it as informed speculation. But with Brainiac as the big bad and Superman forced to work with Lex, bringing in another heavy hitter like Wonder Woman makes a lot of sense. If this pans out, expect it to be a debut that sets up her solo film rather than a full-on co-lead.

Man of Tomorrow lands July 9, 2027. If a lasso and some bracers show up, do not act surprised.
