Kristen Stewart is Making a Movie with Her Ex-BF (Nope, Not That One)
Okay, so here's to thinking this won't be awkward.
It's just been confirmed that Kristen Stewart is destined to star in a movie alongside a notorious ex-boyfriend.
However, before Twilight fans get all elated, keep in mind it's not the ex that most would associate with Kristen Stewart.
Michael Angarano, aka the actor that K-Stew dated before Robert Pattinson, is set to feature his ex-girlfriend in an upcoming film titled Sacramento. Angarano has reportedly had the idea for the script in mind for several years, a concept that he co-wrote with pal Chris Smith. He will also make his directorial debut in the comedy, which tells the story of two long-time friends that go on a spontaneous road together with their wives.
Therefore, who better than to cast as your actual ex-girlfriend? According to W Magazine, Kristen Stewart will play the wife of the friend of Angarano, reportedly set to star Michael Cera.
Meanwhile, Maya Erskine (Pen15), who is married to Angarano in real life, will also appear in the film as Angarano's on-screen lover. Now, that sounds like a love triangle worth investigating.
While not much is known regarding when Angarano and Stewart were an item (keep in mind this was the pre-Twilight era). Nonetheless, there are others in the K-Stew circle that have commented on the romance in the past.
In fact, Catherine Hardwicke (who directed Twilight) cast Angarano in one of her earliest films, a little-known but highly underrated film about the birth of skateboarding - Lords of Dogtown. At that time, Stewart and Angarano were seeing each other.
Consequently, Hardwicke admitted back in 2012 that she was disappointed to see the relationship come to an end: 'I felt pretty bad. I love [Angarano], and they were such a great couple.'
Despite the potential for conflict, or refueling old flings, Angarano insists that is not the case. Rather, the 35 year-old has been working on the script for years and is grateful the concept is finally coming to fruition.
He also had his wife on set, so there was no temptation. '[Chris and I] are honored to be working with this wildly talented cast,' Angarano remarked to Deadline.
The good news is there appear no hard feelings about Pattinson stealing his girl back in the days Twilight reigned supreme. Needless to say, Angarano has moved on to bigger and better things. In addition to Sacramento, Angarano also plays Robert Serber in Christopher Nolan's upcoming summer blockbuster Oppenheimer (July 2023).
