Box office bust turned streaming smash: Good Fortune, starring Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Aziz Ansari, has rocketed to the top of the Starz charts.

Good Fortune stumbled in theaters last fall, then quietly took a victory lap on streaming. The comedy with Keanu Reeves, Seth Rogen, Keke Palmer, and Aziz Ansari just hit Number One on Starz in the U.S. on March 12, 2026. Not bad for a movie most folks assumed had already come and gone.

Streaming rebound

After landing on Starz, Good Fortune jumped to the top of the service’s Top 10 in the U.S. on March 12, 2026, edging out a handful of familiar titles:

  • Spy
  • Menace II Society
  • The Man in the White Van
  • Resurrection Road
  • Grown Ups

What the movie actually is

Written and directed by Aziz Ansari, the film opened in U.S. theaters on October 17, 2025. Reeves plays Gabriel, a lower-ranking angel whose day job is stopping people from texting while driving. He wants to do something that matters. His chance shows up in the form of Arj (Ansari), a struggling gig worker Gabriel decides to help by swapping Arj’s life with Jeff, a loaded venture capitalist played by Rogen. The plan is meant to be a tidy life lesson, which of course turns into a mess once the swap spirals.

The ensemble also includes Keke Palmer as Elena and Sandra Oh as Martha, among others.

From soft box office to strong word of mouth

The theatrical run was modest, with the movie taking in a bit over $26.2 million worldwide. On the reception side, the film has settled nicely with viewers and critics: 78% from 148 critic reviews and an 81% audience score. That tracks with the streaming bump — people are finding it now, and it’s playing better at home.

If you missed it the first time: yes, it’s the one where Keanu Reeves is an angel policing texting-while-driving. High-concept, slightly chaotic, and apparently built for the couch.
