Acting is a very weird job.

Actors have to do a lot of things on set they wouldn’t consider doing in real life. Perhaps, kissing on command in front of your boss and colleagues is one of them. However easy it looks on screen, actors sometimes have a rough time filming a kissing scene and as a result are left with unpleasant memories.

Kate Hudson, whom you might know for her roles in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bride Wars, Mother’s Day, and more recent Glass Onion, talked to Vanity Fair about her acting experience.

One of the questions she had to answer while taking a polygraph test concerned her kissing partners on sets of different movies. The actress was asked to rank her kissing partners from the best to the worst. The latter turned out so bad he deserved to be canceled, Hudson said.

Apparently, it is Dane Cook that once gave Kate Hudson the worst on-set kiss in her acting career. It is quite an anti-achievement considering that the movie they worked on was released in 2008 and Hudson has had more projects (and kisses) since.

Dane Cook and Kate Hudson starred together in My Best Friend’s Girl. As their characters were romantically involved, the two actors couldn’t but kiss in front of the camera. Either of them found it none too pleasant.

While Cook didn’t hesitate to dismiss the kiss with Hudson as his worst on-set one back in 2014, it took Kate Hudson almost fifteen years after the movie and a lie detector test to express her opinion on the experience. According to the actress, Cook didn’t stand a chance when compared to her other on-screen kissers. In fact, he was so bad she wanted him canceled.

Originally asked who kissed best: Matthew McConaughey, Hudson’s co-star in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, or Billy Crudup in Almost Famous, the actress gave a very unexpected answer.

Kate Hudson’s best on-set kiss was with Liv Tyler when they both worked on Dr. T & the Women.

It is clear, however, that although McConaughey and Crudup were very different kissers to be compared with each other, they both produced a way better impression on Kate Hudson than wish-to-be-canceled Dane Cook.
