Justin Baldoni Faces Backlash Over Sexual Harassment Training Joke in Video
A new It Ends with Us set video shows Justin Baldoni appearing to joke about missing sexual harassment training, surfacing amid his ongoing legal battle with co-star Blake Lively.
Well, this is messy. A new on-set video from the making of the 2024 romantic drama It Ends With Us just hit the court record, and it shows Justin Baldoni cracking a joke about missing sexual harassment training in front of Blake Lively. Given the ongoing legal fight between the two, the timing and optics are... not great.
The clip everyone is talking about
The video, pulled from the set, appears to show Baldoni saying "sexy" in Lively's direction. He then turns to two people who look like Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj and quips:
"Sorry, I missed the sexual harassment training."
He rolls his eyes as he says it. According to court filings, Baldoni apologized right after, and Lively reportedly replied, "All good" (via Entertainment Weekly).
Why this is in court now
Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, submitted the clip on November 13 and called it "entirely unremarkable." In the filing, his legal team argues Lively was wearing an oversized fleece onesie, not scantily dressed, and that Baldoni's behavior wasn't remotely flirtatious or suggestive. Translation: they say it's a nothing-burger being blown up into something bigger.
Where the feud stands
This video is the latest skirmish in a long, increasingly complicated back-and-forth. Quick catch-up:
- December 2024: Lively accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment on the set, and fueling an online smear campaign. He denies everything, calling the claims false and damaging.
- After that: Baldoni sues for defamation, naming Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. That case was dismissed earlier this year; Lively's team called the outcome "a total victory and a complete vindication" (via BBC).
- Earlier this month: Baldoni withdraws a $400 million countersuit against Lively after choosing not to amend his complaint.
- Still coming: Lively's original filing remains active, with a trial currently scheduled for March 2026.
The movie they made together
It Ends With Us adapts Colleen Hoover's hit novel about a woman navigating an abusive relationship. Lively and Baldoni star as the leads, and Baldoni also directed. All of which makes this off-camera drama feel even more charged than it already is.
Bottom line: the clip is short, the joke is exactly the kind you do not want on tape during a workplace dispute, and both sides are using it to prove opposite points. Expect to hear a lot more about it between now and 2026.
