Just Like Her Career, Black Mirror's Annie Murphy 2023 Net Worth is Skyrocketing
Though the exact numbers are unknown, Black Mirror's new season has certainly taken the actress's career to the next level.
The new season of Black Mirror is far more ambitious than its predecessors. It offers more in-depth storylines, improved VFX, and even bigger stars like Aaron Paul, Salma Hayek, Zazie Beetz, and others.
All this goes to show that Netflix has invested significantly larger budgets in the new dystopian anthology episodes created by Charlie Brooker's brilliant mind.
On 15 June, Season 6 opened with the episode Joan Is Awful, which featured one of the most star-studded casts in the show's history. Salma Hayek, Michael Cera, and Himesh Patel, just to name a few. And, of course, Annie Murphy deserves a special mention. She had already made a name for herself as a successful actress thanks to her participation in various popular projects, but now her career seems to have really taken off.
The episode deals with the ethical issues of invasion of privacy, identity theft, and the unregulated use of AI in the entertainment industry. The episode demonstrates that Annie Murphy is an extremely versatile actor, not afraid to take on even the most complex roles.
Annie began her career in the mid-2000s after earning a degree in theatre performance. Although she appeared in a large number of television shows at the time, they were mostly small supporting roles. That was until she was cast in the lead role in the sitcom Schitt's Creek.
She played Alexis Rose, a spoiled socialite who, after her parents' bankruptcy and a move to Schitt's Creek, learns to live her life in a new way, confronting the experiences of the less fortunate on a daily basis and ending up having an affair with the local veterinarian, Ted Mullens.
The role brought Annie extraordinary fame, nominations for many prestigious awards, and a Primetime Emmy win. She went on to star in such series as Kevin Can F**k Himself and Russian Doll.
Her net worth now stands at $4 million. Though most of her fortune came after Schitt's Creek, we're sure she would have received a substantial paycheck for her role in Black Mirror, likely in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Her career is going from strength to strength, and Black Mirror will certainly have contributed to that. 21 July will see the release of the animated series Praise Petey, in which Annie plays the title role. We wish her all the best and every success!
