Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo all but shouts its boldest twist yet: Chapter 15 hints Mei Mei never left—she just swapped bodies. Deliberate panels, loaded dialogue, and sharp callbacks make the implication hard to miss, and fans are already buzzing.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo just dropped a chapter that practically points a neon arrow at a fan theory people have whispered about since day one: Mei Mei might not be gone. She might just be somewhere... else.

Spoiler alert: Mild spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 15 ahead.

Chapter 15 is not subtle about Ui Ui

The new chapter spends a suspicious amount of time framing Ui Ui to look and feel like a younger Mei Mei. Same calm posture, same composed energy, same 'why am I getting chills from this child' vibe. He is even shown looming over younger kids in dark robes, which reads less like growth and more like a deliberate echo of Mei Mei imagery.

Then there is the way Ui Ui refers to himself as 'old' while very clearly looking like a kid. In this series, when a character's self-description clashes with their actual age or presentation, that is usually signaling soul-level weirdness. Chapter 15 leans right into that discomfort.

And the crows. They keep showing up around Ui Ui. Crows have been glued to Mei Mei's technique since forever, so seeing them orbit Ui Ui feels less like symbolism and more like residue. The chapter is not mourning Mei Mei. It is more like it is quietly saying she did not leave so much as relocate.

The soul swap receipts

This does not hold water unless Ui Ui's ability can actually make something like this happen. Unfortunately for everyone sleeping well at night, it can. His technique lets him tag a person's soul and trade it with someone else, as long as both sides agree and specific conditions are met. That is not speculation; the story already used it in battle more than once.

  • Ui Ui swapped with Yuji so Yuji could learn Simple Domain from Kusakabe.
  • He pulled another swap to help a sorcerer pick up Reverse Cursed Technique.

So if this trick has been in play since he was little, and if Mei Mei got the rules early, then a permanent exchange or a binding vow version is not out of bounds. That would neatly explain Ui Ui's unwavering obedience, his fuzzy sense of self, and why he often reads like an extension of Mei Mei rather than his own person.

What the chapter is really hinting at

Modulo is not spelling it out in dialogue, but Chapter 15 connects the dots: Ui Ui's soul mechanics, the Mei Mei-coded visuals, the age-language mismatch, the crow trail. Put it together and you get a fairly grim possibility — Mei Mei may have moved herself, fully or partially, into Ui Ui. If that lands, the series just made one of its most controversial sorcerers even more unsettling and, yes, still alive in a very literal way.
