Jeremy Renner Under Fire: From Ex-Wife’s Divorce Claims to Yi Zhou Harassment Allegations
Jeremy Renner has been off the big screen but not out of the spotlight — active on TV even as a high-profile custody battle with his ex and a swirl of controversies and allegations trail his every move.
Jeremy Renner has not headlined a big movie in a while, but he has stayed busy on TV. What fewer people have kept up with: the messy personal/legal stuff that keeps popping up around him. Here is the recent history, laid out without the noise.

The trust fund fight over his daughter
Recent court filings and reports flag an ongoing dispute between Renner and his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, about the trust fund set up for their daughter. The paperwork points to money questions — how the fund was managed, what was paid, what might still be owed — and public comments from both sides have only made the picture muddier. This all traces back to their split in 2014 and runs alongside their broader custody issues. -
Allegations from Renner’s ex — and his response
In 2019, Pacheco alleged Renner had been extremely violent during their relationship, including a claim that he threatened her with a gun while their daughter was present. She also claimed he had a drug problem and left recreational — and, she said, illegal — drugs out where their daughter could access them, per TMZ. Renner has denied the allegations; reports at the time said he was ultimately vindicated, though the custody battle itself has continued to be intense. -
Filmmaker Yi Zhou says Renner harassed her; his camp denies it
More recently, filmmaker Yi Zhou accused Renner of harassing her by sending "personal and intimate photographs of himself." She says they started dating in June, and that things went downhill quickly, including erratic behavior she described to Variety. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Zhou also claimed Renner turned extremely aggressive one night while they were discussing a project. According to her, he drank a bottle of wine by himself and became verbally hostile, which led her to lock herself in a room and share her location with colleagues and family. Zhou put it like this:
"I had to location share to my team, my parents and Disney colleagues in case something happens to me they know where I am. I had to lock myself in a room to be safe praying he would not come into the room at night as he was really angry. I did not say a word, I was so scared for my life."
A representative for Renner has denied that any of this happened. No further action has been announced.
So, yes, Renner has stayed visible on TV — but behind the scenes, there have been trust and custody fights with his ex, serious allegations from 2019 that he denies, and a new set of claims from a filmmaker that his team flatly rejects. It is a lot, and it is ongoing.
