Still recovering from his horrific accident, Jeremy Renner says he’s ready to pick up the bow again — hinting there’s plenty left to explore with Clint Barton in a second season of Hawkeye.

Jeremy Renner is having a very busy end of the year, and yes, he still wants to pick up the bow again. If you have been wondering whether Hawkeye season 2 is a thing Marvel actually cares about, the answer right now is: Renner does, and Marvel seems game.

Renner on more Hawkeye: still in, timing pending

At the 2025 Florida Supercon, per Deadline and Popverse, Renner talked about where he is with Clint Barton and whether he would return. Short version: he loved the first season’s grounded, street-level vibe and feels there’s more to dig into with the character. He also acknowledged the obvious hurdle — after his 2023 snowplow accident, he is still getting his body back to where it needs to be to do the physical stuff again — but he says he’s doing well and expects to get there.

"I’ll always dance with Marvel. I’m happy to do season two of Hawkeye. I love that character. I think there’s so much for us to do."

Renner added that there have already been real conversations about what a second season would look like. For him, the main variable is getting fully back to Hawkeye-level shape so he can run, jump, and, you know, actually sling arrows without wrecking himself. The desire is there; it’s about timing and need.

Marvel’s read: the door is open

Earlier this year, Marvel streaming/TV/animation boss Brad Winderbaum said Hawkeye is one of the shows that could very naturally come back — partly because it’s tied to Christmas and centered on Clint and Kate, which makes it easy to revisit when the moment’s right. He also floated that Marvel’s TV game plan going forward is to build more series that are designed for multiple seasons and a steadier, more annual cadence. Translation: if Hawkeye returns, don’t be shocked if it’s built to keep going.

Where Renner pops up next

  • Mayor of Kingstown season 4: back on Paramount+ next month
  • Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery: Rian Johnson’s all-star sequel — in theaters in November, on Netflix in December
  • MCU status: Renner is still Clint Barton, officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

So that’s where things stand: the star wants it, Marvel likes the idea, and the holiday timing makes a Clint-and-Kate return feel weirdly plug-and-play. Now it’s just about schedules and Renner’s full-speed recovery lining up. If and when that happens, Hawkeye season 2 feels like a layup.
