Jensen Ackles has a packed 2025 — The Boys Season 5, Countdown, and soon The Boys: Vought Rising. But despite the Prime Video chaos, he's still trying to squeeze in time for Tracker Season 3.

In a new interview with Collider promoting Countdown, Ackles confirmed what fans were hoping:

"We are discussing that as we speak. That is being talked about, so yeah, I would hope so. Justin [Hartley] is a dear friend of mine, and getting to play with him is always a fun thing. So, yeah, there are talks of bringing me back. To what capacity, I'm not sure yet."

Translation: it's not locked, but it's real.

Ackles debuted in Season 2 as Russell Shaw, and showrunner Elwood Reid's been pretty open about how badly he wants him back. Back in May, he told TV Insider just how tricky it's been working around everyone's calendars:

"It's so f***ing hard to get their schedules. I mean, Jensen and I are friends. He was on a previous show of mine. I text him all the time. I'm like, I'll take three hours of you... So when we can get him, we get him."

He also teased a return for Melissa Roxburgh's character, Dory, calling her the biggest "blank canvas" the show has to work with — someone who clearly knows something but hasn't revealed what yet. He likes keeping Colter (Hartley) in the dark, saying, "I never want to give Justin complete resolution or answers. I just don't think life works that way."

Speaking of Hartley — he's got ideas too. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he confirmed that the last five episodes of Season 3 will finally dig into the mystery of Colter's father. According to him, each episode plays like its own "little movie," and by the end, we'll get some real answers.

"We creep closer and closer to the mystery of what the hell happened to Colter's father... How did he die? Was there, in fact, another man in the woods? Did he get pushed? Did he get killed? Was it an accident? What the hell is going on with that?"

Hartley also teased a potential Fugitive-style arc for Colter in Season 3 — where instead of chasing people down, he's the one on the run:

"It would be interesting to see him be set up… to see him using all those skills to run from the authorities."

So yeah — it's sounding like Tracker Season 3 is going big. More mystery. More family fallout. And possibly more Jensen Ackles, if they can make the calendar gods cooperate.
