The Hunger Games actress could've been a part of Twilight but didn't land the role.

In the competitive world of the entertainment industry, it's no surprise that actors often audition for numerous films without always securing the desired roles. And when it comes to immensely popular movies like Twilight, it's difficult to imagine anyone else embodying the lead characters, but it turns out that even A-list actors face their fair share of audition disappointments. Recently, Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she had auditioned for Twilight, uncovering the real story behind it.

Jennifer Lawrence is a household name in Hollywood. She first gained widespread recognition with her breakout role in the critically acclaimed film Winter's Bone, which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Lawrence then rose to stardom as the fierce Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games film series.

However, it turns out that before solidifying her status as one of the industry's most promising stars, she tried out for a role in Twilight but didn't land it.

During an interview on The Howard Stern Show, Lawrence candidly shared her experience. She confessed, 'I didn't really know what it was. When you audition when you're like, you know, like a run-of-the-mill actor, you know we're all auditioning for all sorts of things. When it came out I was like “hot damn, woah.”'

What's more, in a recent appearance on The Rewatchables Podcast, the actress recalled, 'They turned me down immediately, I didn't even get a callback. But my life would've been totally different. I got Hunger Games I think, like, a year later.'

Interestingly enough, Lawrence also disclosed that she had contemplated turning down the opportunity to star in Hunger Games due to the immense popularity of the Twilight franchise. 'I almost didn't do Hunger Games because Twilight had come out and that fandom had happened. I just assumed it was going to be like Twilight, like the Twilight level of fame, and that was just never something I had in mind,' she confessed.

In the cutthroat world of auditions and casting decisions, it's important to remember that even the most accomplished actors face rejection along their journey. Undoubtedly, Jennifer Lawrence would've brought a unique interpretation to any role she tried out for had she been cast. However, fate had other plans for her, as she ultimately secured the monumental role of the Girl on Fire, catapulting her into global fame.
