Jennifer Lawrence Got a Warning About Her NSFW Scene in No Hard Feelings
And she enjoyed every minute of it…
This summer, the number of highly anticipated releases, such as Barbie and Oppenheimer, is off the chart. While these two haven't premiered yet, there are other films that have already hit theatres, including Jennifer Lawrence's most recent comedy, No Hard Feelings, for example.
This risqué flick follows Maddie, a thirty-something-year-old Uber driver whose car is repossessed by the IRS as compensation for unpaid property taxes. Desperate to earn some money, Lawrence's character accepts a suspicious job offer – a wealthy family is looking for a woman to entertain their reclusive son. The nineteen-year-old desperately needs to come out of his shell before he leaves for university. As you might expect, the offer suggests a fling between the two.
Needless to say, No Hard Feelings instantly sparked controversy upon its release.
Specifically, there is a scene in the movie Jennifer Lawrence has faced the strongest backlash for. During their summer adventures, Maddie and her charge, Percy, go skinny-dipping, only to discover that their clothes have been stolen shortly after. Luckily, the thieves haven't made it far, and J. Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman's characters still have a chance to retrieve their belongings. The catch is they're both naked.
However, Maddie has no compunctions about fighting the thieves in the nude. Given that the film's whole premise is quite controversial, the nude scene was a bridge too far for some people. Furthermore, Jennifer Lawrence is said to have been warned about it. But the actress insisted on filming the scene and including it in the film because of how hilarious she thought it was.
'Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, "Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?" I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me,' Jennifer shared with Variety.
According to her, it took almost a day to shoot the scene. Moreover, it wasn't the raunchiest one in No Hard Feelings. The movie is filled with sexually explicit moments, as that's the whole point of it.
In turn, A. B. Feldman assured the outlet and the viewers that it was a safe working environment and he enjoyed making the movie. So really, there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy No Hard Feelings, which is still playing in theatres.
