What it’s about
At the center is Jay Kelly, a once-big movie star trying to reconnect with his youngest daughter, Daisy, before she takes off for Europe. The problem: she’d rather hang with her friends. That awkward distance gets shaken up when Jay finds out Peter Schneider — the director who championed him early on — has died. To make it messier, Jay had recently turned down a chance to help Schneider reboot his career.
