Jason Sudeikis has finally found his place in the comedy kingdom.

Sudeikis has been a regular for years, whether writing or starring in Saturday Night Live (SNL) or Hollywood blockbusters like Horrible Bosses. However, it wasn’t until the 47-year-old actor took on the role of Ted Lasso that his career really skyrocketed. And, now, the same can be said about his salary.

Sudeikis is making big boy money, as Business Insider reports the TV star is earning $1 million per episode for season three of Ted Lasso. It’s an enormous leap from season two, in which the actor received a pay raise over his season one earnings ($250,000 to $300,000). Nevertheless, few envisioned that Ted Lasso would result in the type of breadwinner Sudeikis craved since the nasty separation from his ex-wife, Olivia Wilde.

It seems appropriate for the character that has reinvented the image of a man that has always made people laugh, yet perhaps never to this extent.

Ted separates himself from previous characters Sudeikis has portrayed in that he’s a stereotypical nice guy with a good heart that sees the best in everyone. After all, this theme runs rampant in Ted Lasso, including other characters like Keleey, played by Juno Temple.

The Emmy and Golden Globe attention is well-deserved, and about time for the comedian who has always been seeking to break out from the shadows of SNL. Accordingly, Sudeikis has been rewarded with more creative control for season three and moving forward.

Moreover, the rest of the cast and crew also received a pay raise for the highly anticipated season three. It’s a noteworthy achievement for the actor who is now earning the type of salary only seen on TV series like Friends.

It’s not to suggest that Sudeikis does not deserve the accolades.

The comedy remains one of the most binge-watched shows on streaming services, competing with classics like The Office and Friends. Thus, Sudeikis deserves to get paid accordingly.

We’ll be curious to see if the actor receives yet another pay raise if season three continues to garner the viewership it has since its March 2023 premiere. Apple has the type of money that can continue and reward Sudeikis should he continue to bring in audiences and earn big at award shows.

What remains certain is that Ted Lasso resonates with audiences and, as a result, doesn’t appear to be going anywhere.
