Jamie Campbell Bower Dated This Harry Potter Star (But No One Remembers)

Alright, to be fair, most people would have been hard-pressed to remember Jamie Campbell Bower if it wasn't for his recent role as Vecna in Season 4 of Stranger Things. Before that, the actor portrayed a few other fantasy villains, but none of his roles were particularly big.

Bower played Caius, one of Volturi vampires in the Twilight movies, and the young Gellert Grindelwald in both the main Harry Potter series and the Fantastic Beasts spin-offs (not to be confused with adult Grindelwald).

When playing the role of young Grindelwald in Part 1 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Jamie met another cast member of the cult fantasy series, Bonnie Wright.

Her role in it was much more substantial, as she played Ginny — Ron Weasley's younger sister and Harry's romantic interest and future wife.

Bower and Wright didn't share any scenes, but they saw each other regularly on the set and developed romantic feelings. The couple dated for a number of years and even got engaged in 2011.

Back then, their castmates and fans were surely happy for the couple but also surprised because the actors were so young — Jamie was 21, and Bonnie was only 19 years old. Unfortunately, their relationship did not last, as the actors eventually split and called off their engagement, much to the dismay of romance-hungry Harry Potter fans.

Both have kept the details of their relationship private, so we cannot say exactly what was the reason behind their breakup. But that's also a good thing, as neither of the actors felt so hurt as to reveal the other's dirty laundry, and it seems that Bower and Wright parted ways rather amicably.

Since then, Bonnie Wright has played in a bunch of independent films and even founded her own film production company, BonBonLumiere — although she's still mostly remembered as Ginny Weasley.

Jamie Campbell Bower struggled from one small role to another but managed to achieve some success as a solo musician and as a frontman of the rock band Counterfeit. The role as Vecna in Stranger Things has been Bower's major career highlight so far and may well become the actor's breakthrough.
