Buried for a reason, the original version is one we hope never sees daylight.

Peacemaker just dropped a post-credits tag so gross it made even this show blush — and James Gunn says the one we saw was actually the toned-down cut. Of course it was.

The tag that had everyone going... yeah, that tracks

The latest season 2 episode swings back to Sydney Happersen in the lab — that would be Stephen Blackehart — still parked under guard. He tells the guys to turn around because he plans to hop on PornHub and, in his words, 'drown this whole keyboard.' When no one budges, he tosses out a deadpan 'Your funeral,' spits on his hands, and caps it with a cheery 'Showtime!'

'Truly the foulest post-credits ever. And it was way, way worse before I cut it down!'

— James Gunn, live on Threads during the episode

Gunn didn’t say what he trimmed, and honestly, I do not need a director's cut of that gag. The version we got is plenty descriptive.

Season 2 status check

  • The John Cena-led series returned in August, riding the momentum of Superman’s big summer box office win.
  • It has been dropping weekly surprises, including an out-of-nowhere alternate dimension twist and a quick but buzzy Nicholas Hoult cameo as Lex Luthor.
  • There is only one episode left, and the final trailer is teasing actual DCU ripple effects — not just jokes and gore, but canon shake-ups.

Finale timing

Season 2 wraps this week: Thursday on HBO Max in the US, and Friday on Sky/NOW in the UK.

And if you are already looking past the finale: next up in the DCU is Supergirl, flying into theaters on June 26, 2026.
