James Gunn just cranked up the hype for Peacemaker season 2, unveiling the Episode 5 soundtrack ahead of the drop. After the series hit Max in August on the heels of July’s Superman, the new tracklist teases even wilder turns to come.

James Gunn is still DJ-in-chief on Peacemaker, and he is not shy about it. Before Episode 5 drops, he went ahead and posted the full song lineup on his Instagram Stories. If you watch this show for the chaos and the needle drops (same), here is what you are getting this week.

Episode 5 soundtrack (as revealed by Gunn)

  • Oh Lord - Foxy Shazam (also the Season 2 opening theme; Season 1 opened with Do Ya Wanna Taste It by Wig Wam)
  • Ain't That Kind of Girl - Diemonds
  • November Rain - Guns N' Roses
  • Take Me For a Ride - Bad City

Yes, that is November Rain. So expect at least one gloriously over-the-top moment scored like the world is ending and someone forgot their umbrella.

Why Foxy Shazam is the new opener

Gunn told TechRadar back in August that he kicked around a few options for the Season 2 intro, including another Foxy Shazam track and even reusing Do Ya Wanna Taste It. In the end, he said:

'I picked Oh Lord because it fit this season's tone.'

Simple, clean logic. And honestly, it tracks when you hear how Season 2 leans darker without losing the dumb fun.

A quick bit of context

Peacemaker Season 2 landed on Max (formerly HBO Max) in August 2025, right on the heels of Gunn's Superman movie in July. He is also the creator running the show here, which explains why the soundtracks feel so dialed in. Each new episode has had fans raving about the music picks, and these Episode 5 tracks have already been added to the official Peacemaker playlist on Spotify if you want to pre-game.

Gunn shared this Episode 5 list ahead of release via Instagram, and the lineup was first spotted by SuperHeroHype.
