James Gunn Breaks Silence on Emilia Harcourt's Peacewrecker Reveal in Peacemaker

Fans have been trying to manifest Emilia Harcourt suiting up as Peacewrecker on Peacemaker. James Gunn just put a pin in that. On The Morning After Pod: Phase Hero's Peacemaker Podcast, he was asked about it point-blank and basically said: not happening, at least not with who Harcourt is right now.

So, is Harcourt becoming Peacewrecker?

Meanwhile, someone like Judo Master keeps rocking a costume without much explanation, which reads more as eccentricity than purpose. Harcourt, as Gunn frames it, just is not that kind of character. The show even tossed out 'Peacewrecker' as a gag, not a roadmap.

Where Season 2 is taking Harcourt instead

Gunn emphasized that Harcourt's story this season is about her head and her heart, not her wardrobe. He pointed to Episode 6 and that heavy scene with John Cena's Peacemaker: Harcourt is so convinced she is not worth much that she thinks she is doing him a favor by keeping her distance. Her arc is about accepting love and believing she deserves it. That is a lot more interesting than strapping on body armor just because the internet made a cool nickname.
