DC’s fiercest feud just got upended: James Gunn and Zack Snyder are teaming up—uniting the minds behind Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League—and proving the franchise’s future isn’t a civil war.

If you were hoping for some big Snyder vs. Gunn drama, sorry. The guys just teamed up on Instagram to reminisce about an old win, which is about as anti-feud as it gets.

The throwback post

Zack Snyder and James Gunn did a joint post looking back at making 2004's 'Dawn of the Dead' together. Snyder directed it. Gunn wrote it. It is the remake of George A. Romero's 1978 classic, and it kicked off a lot for both of them. A screenshot of their post made the rounds via @Everything_DCU on Twitter on December 17, 2025.

"Proud father moment on Dawn of the Dead (2004) - written by the one and only @jamesgunn. What a fun time!!"

"Amazing times."

Short and sweet, but you get the vibe. These two are good.

Friendly reminder: they are not enemies

Fans love to pit their camps against each other online, but Snyder and Gunn are friends. Gunn even checked with Snyder about whether his 2025 'Superman' should bring back the red trunks. Earlier this year, they both voiced themselves in a 'Rick and Morty' episode. Any rumor that they secretly hate each other is just noise.
