Their interactions are one of the highlights of the show.

Season 3 of Sweet Magnolias proved to be a great addition to the life-affirming story of three friends from the peaceful town of Serenity, South Carolina. Although not without excessive drama, the new season was welcomed by fans and attracted new viewers, many of whom were desperately looking for a heartwarming story like this to lift their spirits.

While protagonists Helen (Heather Headley), Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), and their children got some great plot development in Season 3 and learned important life lessons, the dynamic between two other side characters was a bit overlooked. Many fans think that the biggest missed opportunity of the new season is the friendship arc between Noreen (Jamie Lynn Spears) and Isaac (Chris Medlin).

Noreen has grown a lot since last season, becoming a favorite for many viewers. At the beginning, people disliked the character, saying that she was pretty annoying. Her affair with Bill (Chris Klein), which effectively destroyed his and Maddie's relationship (especially when it was revealed that Noreen had become pregnant), gave fans hope that her departure from Serenity in Season 1 would be permanent.

However, Noreen herself realized that Bill did not love her, withdrew the engagement, and returned to town. Left alone and feeling like an outsider in Serenity's tight-knit community, she began to mend her ways, changed her outlook on life, and eventually found her own path.

This brought her together with Isaac, a lovely young man who had come to Serenity to find his biological parents. The two bonded quickly after Isaac allowed Noreen and her child to live with him. Their touching friendship story made it clear that the two belonged in Serenity, as Noreen and Isaac have just as much empathy, compassion, and forgiveness as the rest of the townspeople.

Although the two had quite a lot of screen time in Season 3, many fans claim their friendship deserved even more attention from the writers. Isaar and Noreen's relationship brightens the show and gives the audience much-needed comfort, which is why they have turned to Sweet Magnolias in the first place.

The characters' friendship is complicated by the fact that Isaac happens to be Bill's son, which makes Noreen's daughter his biological sister. We'd like to think that the upcoming season, whenever it comes out, will explore this story further, allowing viewers to see the blossoming dynamic of this charming duo.
