Is Tramell Tillman Joining the MCU in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Severance breakout Tramell Tillman says his secretive Spider-Man 4 gig won’t be what fans expect, teasing to Variety at the Time100 Next Gala that his MCU debut will surprise everyone.
Severance standout Tramell Tillman is in Spider-Man 4, but before you lock him in as the villain, he wants you to pump the brakes.
"Who says I’m a villain?"
That was Tillman on the Time100 Next Gala red carpet when Variety asked about his role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He kept it coy beyond that, saying he can’t spill details but he’s having a good time shooting the movie. He also talked about why playing antagonists is fun: they tend to be layered and messy, which is catnip for actors. Variety posted the quick exchange on October 31, 2025, and worth noting, Tillman was one of the 100 rising stars honored at the event.
Bottom line: he’s in the movie, the role’s under wraps, and the villain chatter might be a little premature.
Here’s where the movie itself is at, because Marvel secrecy is doing Marvel secrecy:
- Title: Spider-Man: Brand New Day (aka Spider-Man 4 in the current Tom Holland run)
- Director: Destin Daniel Cretton
- Writers: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers
- Returners: Tom Holland back as Peter Parker, with Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalon expected to return
- New faces: Sadie Sink, Liza Colon-Zayas, Jon Bernthal, and Tramell Tillman (plus others still under wraps)
- Producers: Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O'Connor, and Avi Arad
- US release date: July 31, 2026
- Timeline context: It lands ahead of Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027
As for who Tillman is playing, your guess is as good as mine until Marvel lets something slip or a trailer gives us a real look. For now, file it under: intriguing casting, strategic misdirection very possible. And yes, this one was first flagged by Anthony Nash.
