If not, maybe a Hallmark movie is in the mix.

It's been more than ten years since Smallville wrapped, but its legacy lives on. The Superman origin show has inspired young adult novels, podcasts, and a bi-monthly DC comic book.

Stars Tom Welling (Clark Kent) and Erica Durance (Lois Lane) continue to be known for Smallville more than anything else… and fans want to know if a reunion might be possible for the beloved series.

While attending Lucifer Con this past April, Welling told fans that Durance has recently been working on a number of Hallmark movies, and that she actually encouraged him to join her on one! He in turn pitched the idea of a Smallville reunion, but as of that point Durance was uninterested in revisiting the character of Lois.

The showrunners of Smallville are likewise discouraging. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Al Gough and Miles Millar were asked if they might consider a limited series sequel for Smallville… and the answer was no. Gough stated:

'I feel like we were very, very fortunate to do the show when we did it because we got to make the show we wanted to make, and frankly, there was no committee sitting over us telling us what we could or couldn't do. I mean, we had Warner's features, who wouldn't give us certain characters that we wanted, but we got to make the show we wanted to make which we wouldn't be allowed to make that show today.'

It may not be the reunion fans are craving, but Welling and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) have been working on an animated sequel to Smallville for several years. Welling told fans that he hopes to get all of the original cast back to voice their roles – including Erica Durance as Lois Lane.

The project hasn't had any updates since 2022, but it's still an exciting possibility for the Smallville fans hoping to spend more time with their favorite characters.

In the meantime, fans can hear Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum on Talk Ville, a podcast where the two friends and castmates review every episode of the iconic show. Together they chat with guest stars, share behind-the-scenes gossip, and uncover stories about the making of the series.

It's not quite a reunion, but it might tide us over while we wait for something new.
