How we got here
The short version: Victor Von Doom snatched the Sorcerer Supreme title, juiced himself up with the big mystical toys (the Cloak, the Eye), and briefly took over the world. That arc is called ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM. He was defeated, the mantle went up for grabs, and everyone started guessing who would pick it up. Marvel just answered: Wanda is stepping in.
