For the first time in history, fans on the internet are mad about something (try not to be too shocked).

After what feels like seventeen years of waiting, Netflix has finally released promos for Bridgerton Season 3… and there's a decided lack of Kanthony content.

This has struck some fans as some kind of ominous, racist signal – why exactly has Netflix excluded Simone Ashley (Kathani Sharma) from their promos when she was one half of S2's starring couple?

First of all, this outrage conveniently ignores the fact that Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), a white guy and the other half of Kanthony, is also missing from the promos. It's an equal-opportunity shunning. And second of all, the (very limited) promo materials focus entirely on the new season's starring couple: Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton). It's not just Kate who's missing from the promos – it's basically everyone who isn't part of #Polin. There's no Eloise, Benedict, Queen Charlotte, Violet, or Newton the Corgi… yet. (Justice for Newton!)

Of course, there may be a number of secondary reasons why we haven't gotten a glimpse of S3's Kate yet. One fan theory is that she will be pregnant in the newest season, which would need to be concealed in the promos so as not to spoil anything. This development would be a delightful change of pace for Kanthony, and give fans a hilarious and touching plot to follow – can you imagine Anthony running around after a very pregnant Kate? Heart eyes for days.

Never fear, fellow Kanthony stans! In spite of their absence from early promos it's been guaranteed that both Ashley and Bailey are returning to Bridgerton. This isn't going to be another tragic Regé-Jean Page situation (the star of Bridgerton's Season 1 took other acting gigs and disappeared from the show entirely).

What we do know is that Kate and Anthony, after their intense and tempestuous courtship, will now be adjusting to the realities of married life. Kate in particular will be dealing with a lot of change, as she is now a Viscountess and a prominent member of society. In an interview with British Vogue, Ashley gushed about Kantony's connection in Season 3. She told the magazine,

'Tonally, it's so different – sweet, endearing and light, compared to the heaviness of their story last season.'

Bridgerton Season 3 does not currently have a release date… but with content finally starting to come out, fans are keeping their fingers crossed!
