Well, at least they can coordinate the release of the Polin season with some important dates.

While both Netflix and Shondaland continue to maintain silence about Bridgerton Season 3 and its premiere date, fans have taken matters into their own hands and predicted that the love story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, also known as Polin, will be released in the spring of 2024.

Delayed Tie-In Book Means May 2024 Premiere

Redditor u/Background-Crow2705 recently shared a letter from their bookstore stating that all pre-orders of Romancing Mister Bridgerton with a Netflix tie-in cover will be delayed until May 2.

That set the natural-born detectives within the Bridgerton fandom in motion, and they quickly deduced that the most likely month for the highly anticipated Season 3 release is May 2024. What is the logic behind this conclusion?

Well, the release of the tie-in books, which are the same original stories by Julia Quinn but with a new cover design, have so far been coordinated to happen around about the same time as the premiere of new Netflix Bridgerton seasons.

The redesigned The Duke and I was released on December 1, 2020, 25 days before the Season 1 premiere. The Viscount Who Loved Me was released on March 15, 2022, 10 days before Season 2.

Only the Queen Charlotte novel was published five days after the spinoff's release on May 4, 2023. But that was the book's debut, and the creators probably didn't want to spoil the on-screen story.

Most likely, the publishers plan to follow the original pattern and release the fourth tie-in book before the Polin story premieres on the streaming platform, which could be any day in May 2024.

Smart Promo Campaign Can Make Up For The Long Wait

While a more than two-year pause between seasons is disappointing, Netflix and Shondaland could still potentially redeem themselves with a thoughtful, impactful marketing campaign.

If the new season premieres in May, the entire promotion can be linked to the timeline of the Polin story, with Valentine's Day marking the romantic start of the campaign.

April 3 to 9 is already recognized as Polin Week, celebrating the love between the two characters. In the book, Penelope met and fell for Colin two days before her 16th birthday, April 6, 1812. The week could be filled with new teasers, promotional videos, interviews, and other treats for fans.

Also, in April 2024, the book's couple share their first kiss, followed by an engagement and their first intimate moment, all of which could serve as a great basis for promotional events.

Finally, since Colin and Penelope were married in May 1824 in Julia Quinn's novel, the season should premiere with a bang around the couple's 200th wedding anniversary.
