Is Millie Bobby Brown Joining Marvel's X-Men? Fact-Checking the Rumor
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is reportedly in the running to join Marvel’s X-Men in the MCU reboot, according to scooper MyTimeToShineHello.
File this under: fun rumor, big asterisk. A new scoop says Millie Bobby Brown might be suiting up with the X-Men in Marvel's reboot. Tempting idea. Also very much in the unconfirmed zone.
The rumor (and the reality check)
On November 30, 2025, longtime superhero scooper MyTimeToShineHello posted that Brown is being eyed for an X-Men role in the MCU's upcoming mutant relaunch. As of right now, neither Marvel Studios nor Brown has commented, so treat it like what it is: rumor territory. And for what it is worth, this particular scooper has a mixed track record — plenty of posts generate heat, not all of them end up being true.
There is another wrinkle: Brown has openly said she is not an MCU or DC person, at least as a viewer. She told the BBC she has never watched either franchise, but she is not opposed to the idea of joining one.
'I haven't watched a Marvel film ever, and I've never watched a DC film. It's not my thing, but I'm open to it. I've just never been like, 'oh, I'm going to put on this film'.'
Could she fit? Absolutely
Brown recently worked with Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo on The Electric State, alongside Marvel veterans Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, and Anthony Mackie. That does not equal a Marvel deal, but the connection is there. And purely on talent: she would be a strong get for the mutant lineup — she can carry high-stakes, emotional material and bring some fresh energy. Also worth noting: she recently became a mother, which has fans extra curious about what her next move will be.
Who fans want her to play
The internet has already started its fantasy casting. The consensus picks are pretty on-brand:
- Jean Grey — the telepath/telekinetic powerhouse. Given Brown's history playing characters with psychic abilities, this is the obvious go-to.
- Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat) — the beloved brainy phase-through-walls problem-solver. Tons of fans are begging for this one.
- Rogue — a bold swing, but people are posting mockups like it already happened.
What Brown is actually doing next
While we wait to see if the X-Men rumor goes anywhere, Brown is officially back as the title sleuth in Enola Holmes 3. Netflix is sending Enola to Malta this time, where her personal life and professional ambitions collide in a case that is messier and more dangerous than anything she has faced before.
The film is directed by Philip Barantini, with a screenplay by Jack Thorne. Returning and new faces include Louis Partridge, Henry Cavill, Himesh Patel, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Production wrapped on June 27, when Brown posted set photos and wrote, 'Case closed.'
Bottom line: fun casting chatter, zero confirmation. If it happens, great — she would slot into the X-Men world nicely. If not, we are still getting more Enola, which is hardly a bad consolation prize.
