Karen Mott’s emotional talk about leaving Atlanta has Sistas fans bracing for a goodbye. Is Ebony Obsidian actually exiting Tyler Perry’s hit or is it a storyline misdirect? Here’s the latest on where Karen and Aaron stand.

So, Sistas just dangled a big life change in front of Karen, and now everyone wants to know if Ebony Obsidian is actually leaving the show. Short answer: the show is teasing it hard, but it has not locked anything in yet.

Is Karen really moving out of Atlanta?

This week, Karen Mott (Ebony Obsidian) sat down with her husband, Aaron Carter (Kevin Walton), and pushed for a fresh start somewhere that is not Atlanta. Given all the chaos around them lately, she is done with the mess and wants out.

Aaron was not on board at first. Karen laid out all her worries, and after a long back-and-forth, he agreed to relocate — with one condition: they have to put a real plan together. No rash decisions, actual logistics. Fair.

With that settled (for now), Karen started telling family. First up: her mother, Miss Lisa (Shari Belafonte). Lisa did not get it at first, but she came around and accepted the decision. We still have not seen how Karen’s sisters will react — that is coming in future episodes.

And here is the reality check: TV promises are not the same as exits. The characters are gearing up to move, but whether the show actually pulls the trigger on Karen leaving is still very much wait-and-see.

Meanwhile, the rest of the episode was messy in the way this show loves

  • Andi Barnes (K.J. Smith Black) got blindsided when her mom, Valerie Barnes (Dee Freeman), popped up at the firm, caught Andi kissing Dr. Vaughn (Sullivan Jones), and immediately cut in. Later, Valerie marched over to Fatima (Crystal Renee Hayslett), tried to set her straight, and basically threatened that Andi will fire her.
  • Zac (Devale Ellis) told Fatima he once saw Andi naked, which went over exactly how you think: badly. Fatima got heated and stormed into Andi’s office to confront her.
  • Dani (Mignon Von) and Tony (Branden Wellington) revisited their last romantic run-in. Tony said Dani seemed tense back then; Dani pointed the finger at Rich for why Tony felt the way he did.

Bottom line: Karen and Aaron are planning a move, Mom is on board, and the show is clearly setting the table for a possible exit. But until they actually pack the boxes and drive off, consider it a storyline in motion — not a done deal.
