Summary

  • DWTS 32 is beloved by fans but still has some downsides.
  • Promoting less talented contestants is this season's main issue.
  • Harry Jowsey is this installment's most controversial contestant.
  • He got through to the next week despite a very low score.

It's been almost a week since the latest episode of the thirty-second season of Dancing with the Stars aired, but it remains a hot topic among fans. On the one hand, that's a good thing, as it shows that people are still interested in the show, which didn't perform so well during the last installment, which many viewers deemed to be its last. On the other hand, however, it brings forth the issues that season 32 has.

Based on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, DWTS premiered on American television in 2005 and quickly proved to be a hit. Throughout its extensive run, the celebrity dancing competition has been a fan-favorite show. Now, after a mostly unsuccessful thirty-first season, the show is once again adored by fans. However, many viewers are upset with the skills of many of the celebrity contestants who remain on the show even as the finale approaches.

Charming Yet Clumsy

Without further ado, let's get right to the point. If you watched season 32 of DWTS, you know exactly which contestant we're talking about. Harry Jowsey has been a pet peeve for many fans of the show since the beginning of this season, yet he has managed to make it to week 8 out of the eleven weeks of the season.

The reason for the audience's hatred is obvious. While Harry is cute, he can't really dance well, as all of his moves seem forced and heavy. At the same time, he was kept on DWTS 32 and secretly promoted by the producers who played the card of his potential relationship with his pro partner, Rylee Arnold. Now there's another move to generate fan love for Jowsey, which makes it seem like he's set to win the season against all odds.

Good Friend Harry

At the end of the Week 7 episode, Lele Pons, who performed a salsa dance to Shakira's Whenever, Wherever that night, was eliminated despite receiving a solid score of 33 points. Most importantly, it was higher than Jowsey's 24, which may be why many people were so pissed that he stayed on the show. But it turns out that Harry volunteered to leave the show in Lele's place so that she could stay.

According to Pons, Jowsey wrote to her after the episode and offered her his spot on DWTS 32. Unfortunately, that's not a thing on the show, so Harry couldn't possibly leave the show instead of his on-screen friend. But now he has the support of her fans who must have appreciated his move, so we will have to see how it will impact his future performances.

Episode 8 is scheduled to air on November 14th.
