Charlie Cox swears Daredevil won’t be suiting up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day — but in a universe built on misdirection, that denial might be the biggest clue of all. Is Hell’s Kitchen headed for Queens after all?

Marvel loves a secret, which makes sorting out who is actually in these movies a whole thing. Yes, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret War are looming, but the next stop on the MCU schedule is Spider-Man: Brand New Day. And that one is locked down so tight we still don’t even know who some of the confirmed cast are playing — including Sadie Sink.

So... is Daredevil swinging by?

The current rumor floating around: Charlie Cox’s Daredevil shows up in Brand New Day. Cox addressed it head-on while chatting with Brandon Davis, basically saying fans are reading tea leaves that aren’t there — specifically, assuming a London shoot means Spider-Man.

"I know that they all think I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, which I’m not. I’m not in Spider-Man [or Avengers]. I’m just concentrating on DD right now."

Here’s the part that raised eyebrows: nobody directly asked him about Spider-Man. The conversation was about set photos from season two of Daredevil: Born Again, and Cox himself brought up the Spidey rumors. That doesn’t prove anything, but it definitely keeps the speculation humming.

And look, we’ve been here before. Cox had a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in 2021’s No Way Home, and he even spoiled it to Andrew Garfield ahead of time. If he’s in Brand New Day, he’d be extra careful not to repeat that whoops.

The timing doesn’t help tamp things down either: season two of Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere about four months before Brand New Day. Could be pure coincidence. Could also be a convenient on-ramp for a quick crossover. As always with Marvel, take denials with a grain of salt — these folks keep secrets for a living.

What we do know about Brand New Day

  • Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
  • Zendaya returns as MJ.
  • Jacob Batalon returns as Ned.
  • Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner/Hulk.
  • Sadie Sink is in the cast, but her role is still under wraps.

Will Daredevil actually show up? I wouldn’t bet the house either way, but I won’t be shocked if he pops in for a quick legal consult or hallway brawl. Until Marvel rolls credits, everything is Schrödinger’s cameo.
