Days of Our Lives stalwart Eric Martsolf just snagged another Daytime Emmy nod for Outstanding Lead Performance—and he isn’t packing Brady Black’s bags. In a candid chat, the Passions alum gushes about soaps and their die-hard fans, signaling he’s in Salem for the long haul.

Eric Martsolf is not packing his bags. The Days of Our Lives mainstay just scored another Daytime Emmy nomination and, based on what he is saying, he is very much staying put in Salem.

Another Emmy nod, same love for the grind

The Passions alum picked up a fresh Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Lead Performance category, giving him back-to-back nods. In a recent interview, Martsolf talked about the boring-but-true combo that keeps him going: old-fashioned work ethic and actually liking the job.

He even nodded to the late John Aniston when he explained that this still does not feel like a real job to him — he genuinely enjoys digging into scenes and breaking down material. That enthusiasm has not faded, and neither has his desire to stick with DOOL.

'I dont want to go anywhere. I love this! Over the years, Ive always run out of reasons to leave... because theres so many reasons to stay.'

He also joked that staying on set is one way to dodge the occasional teen storm at home — he has twin teenage sons, Mason and Chase, and if you know teens, you know what that means.

Meanwhile in Salem: Brady Black cannot catch a break

Off camera, Martsolf is a dad making jokes. On camera, Brady Black is a dad putting out fires. A lot of them. If you have not kept up, here is the current mess:

  • The mystery around Baby Tesoro is exploding. Brady realizes his son Tate might not be the father of Sophia's baby, and he is determined to figure out what actually happened with Sophia's child.
  • While chasing answers, Brady is also slipping on being present for his younger daughter, Rachel.
  • He is laser-focused on shielding Rachel from her mom, Kristen. Latest development: Kristen shot EJ. She says it was to protect their daughter, but Brady does not know that piece of it.
  • From Brady's perspective, Kristen is still the self-centered tornado who put their kid through hell — and that is coloring every decision he is making right now.

So, if you were wondering whether Martsolf might be leaving or if Brady might be fading into the background, the answer is no on both counts. The Emmy run is still on, the love for the job is still real, and the Brady drama is very much still raging.
