Millie Bobby Brown is officially in her mom era — on her terms. She and husband Jake Bongiovi adopted a baby girl over the summer, made the news public in August, and then promptly pumped the brakes on letting the world in too much. Honestly, smart move.

On August 21, 2025, Brown and Bongiovi told fans on Instagram that their family grew by one through adoption and that they wanted to handle this new chapter quietly. In a new British Vogue interview, Brown explains that their daughter will stay out of the spotlight for now — no name reveal, no face on socials, none of it — until their child is old enough to decide that for herself.

For me, it is really important to protect her and her story. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that is something we would support. But right now, as she is so little — as her parents, it is our job to protect her from that.

She also says motherhood flipped her perspective in the best way: the small stuff hits harder, the days are mushy and happy, and Jake is, in her words, an amazing dad.

A few glimpses, but very controlled

The two were photographed strolling with their baby in the Hamptons not long after the announcement. Daily Mail shots caught Brown carrying a phone case stamped with the initials RWB, which fans took as a hint at the baby’s name. Brown hasn’t confirmed anything, and if her Vogue comments tell us anything, she won’t — not until their daughter chooses to share it herself.

She did post a tiny peek on Instagram later: a carousel from a Disney day on the It’s a Small World ride, with her and Jake leaning in to look at the baby. The face was blurred, the caption read 'my t swift october,' and that was that — a quick moment, on their terms.

As for life at home, a source told PEOPLE the plan is to raise their daughter on their Georgia farm. They have built a whole setup down there, and Brown loves the place. It makes sense — a little space, some animals, and a childhood away from constant cameras.

Brown always wanted to be a young mom

This wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment thing. On the SmartLess podcast back in March 2025, Brown said her mom had her at 21 and her dad was 19, and she always pictured herself starting young too. She’s also been open about wanting a big family — she’s one of four, Jake is one of four — and that adoption felt no different than having a biological child. As she put it elsewhere this year, their home has room for anyone and anything, and that’s the point.

She told Pedestrian TV she’d raise her kids the way her parents raised her: encourage them to be themselves and protect them when it counts. People close to the couple say Jake has been fully aligned on all of this — supportive, steady, and in it with her. Friends and family seem thrilled too. Noah Schnapp called himself excited to watch her flourish, and Jake’s dad, Jon Bongiovi, said meeting the baby instantly made her his granddaughter — and he has turned into the grandpa who wants photos every day.
