Even as headlines swirl around Diddy, his longtime bond with LeBron James is getting a next-gen sequel—Bryce James linking up with twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs.

LeBron James and Diddy used to be tight. Then Diddy got hit with a string of serious allegations, and now he has a 50-month prison sentence to show for it. In the middle of all that, their kids — Bryce James and Diddy’s twin daughters, D'Lila and Jessie Combs — have quietly kept their own friendship going. It’s a weird overlap of teenage life, high-profile families, and a very public downfall.

The kids are still close: homecoming, senior night, and a beach trip

All three went to Sierra Canyon High School, where the twins cheered and Bryce played basketball. In October 2023, the group hit the school’s homecoming together. The twins matched head-to-toe in black — dresses, shoes, hair — and Bryce kept it simple with black pants, a plain black tee, and a chain. Their friend Boogie Johnson went more formal in a black suit and white shirt. The photos made it look like Bryce might have been one twin’s date and Boogie the other’s — arms around shoulders and all that — but nothing romantic ever surfaced. As of now, Bryce is happily with Sadie Johnson.

Fast-forward to January 19, 2024: D'Lila and Jessie were in the stands for Bryce’s Senior Night, cheering him on. Both families showed up — Bryce’s parents, plus some of the twins’ siblings. For context, the twins are a year older than Bryce.

Then in April 2024, a few months before Diddy’s September arrest, Bryce, the twins, and Boogie were spotted vacationing in Turks and Caicos. There’s even a video of them dancing in the water because of course there is. Normal teen stuff, just with a very not-normal backdrop.

How LeBron’s name ended up in Diddy’s mess

LeBron got dragged into the discourse when an old clip of him saying, "Ain't no party like a Diddy party," started making the rounds again. On top of that, one of the civil suits against Diddy listed LeBron as a potential witness. Important note: he isn’t accused of anything — he was just named in the paperwork. Still, his name popping up fed the headlines.

Inside the sentencing: the twins spoke, and it got emotional

Diddy’s kids showed up in court for the sentencing hearing, including the twins, who asked Judge Arun Subramanian for leniency. Jessie acknowledged her dad’s mistakes but pushed for a chance to keep him in their lives. She said:

"We know he isn't perfect and he has made many mistakes and we aren't here to excuse any of those mistakes. But, your honor, he is still our dad, and we still need him present in our lives."

She also talked about losing their mother, Kim Porter, and how she was a little girl trying to process something too big to understand — and that it was their dad who helped them get through the darkest nights.

D’Lila focused on their youngest sister, Love, who is 2, and how the little one keeps asking for her dad:

"[She] runs to us every night asking where Daddy is. We cannot watch our baby sister grow up fatherless."

Quincy, Christian, Justin, and Chance Combs also addressed the court, all of them asking for mercy. While they spoke, Diddy sat with his head in his hands, clearly wrecked. Courtroom sketches showed him crying, and after the judge read the sentence, he reportedly dropped to his knees.

The sentence

Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison — more time than the defense wanted, less than the prosecution pushed for. Either way, it’s a substantial stretch, and barring any major developments, he has a long road before he’s back with his family.
