Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner reportedly put family first this Thanksgiving, reuniting in Los Angeles for a Garner-cooked feast with their three kids.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner did Thanksgiving the way only very functional exes can: together, with their kids, and apparently a really good meal. No drama. Just stuffing, support, and a bunch of adults acting like adults.

What went down

  • Per PEOPLE, Garner hosted at her place in Los Angeles, same as last year. She cooked, because of course she did, and the vibe was warm and low-key.
  • Guests included Affleck, their three kids — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel — and even Ben’s mom. Yes, the whole crew.
  • A source described Garner as the one who goes all-out in the kitchen and likes having everyone under one roof. Affleck, for what it’s worth, is always welcome at her house.
  • Where they’re at now: on very good terms and backing each other up when it comes to the kids. Affleck is reportedly focused on work, staying healthy, and spending time with the family.
  • Thanksgiving morning wasn’t just about pie. Like last year, Garner spent time at L.A.’s The Midnight Mission for their annual Thanksgiving Street Fair, handing out free meals.
  • Garner’s longtime on-and-off partner, John Miller (they’ve been dating since 2018), is said to be understanding about her family-first approach.

The broader picture

Earlier this fall, Affleck talked about fatherhood at the L.A. premiere of Kiss of the Spider-Woman, which he produced. He shouted out Violet’s United Nations work and made it clear he knows how good he has it.

"And I’m very lucky that I’ve got a great partner and that we got great kids. It’s the joy of my life, and I’m just very, very lucky. And it makes me happy every day," Affleck said.

So, yeah — not the messy tabloid Thanksgiving some might expect. More like a well-run family operation, with charity in the morning, turkey in the afternoon, and everybody getting along. Honestly refreshing.
