A leaked Spider-Man 4 trailer has ignited a fandom firestorm, with a Hulk shock at its center that’s already reshaping how we see Peter Parker’s lonely reset. Surfacing December 16, 2025, the clip shows Tom Holland’s Spider-Man publicly introducing himself as Peter Parker and confronting the cost of Doctor Strange’s fix — a move that hints at seismic fallout ahead.

So, a low-res trailer for the next Spider-Man movie quietly hit the internet, and now everyone is arguing about Hulk of all things. Not the headline I expected either, but here we are.

The alleged teaser: lonely Peter, a warning, and a Banner problem

The footage that popped up on December 16, 2025 shows Tom Holland’s Peter doing something he hasn’t done since Doctor Strange scrambled everyone’s memory in No Way Home: he introduces himself, out loud, as Peter Parker. He makes it clear he knows the cost of that spell and he’s living with it in silence.

"Hi. My name is Peter Parker. You don’t remember me, but we knew each other."

From there it gets thornier. Sadie Sink (whose role is still being kept quiet) throws a sharp warning his way: "You’re a mess, Spider-Man. Don’t get in my way." A gravelly voice, widely assumed to be Tombstone, mutters about spiders surviving rebirth. And then comes the line that launched a thousand threads: Peter reaches out to Bruce Banner.

"Trust me, Banner, I need your help."

"You are not one of my students, are you?"

That second line has fans suddenly imagining Professor Banner teaching at a university again, and more importantly, wondering if Hulk might be the crack in Strange’s spell.

Why that Hulk line matters to comic readers

There’s precedent. In the 2020 comic Immortal Hulk: Great Power by Tom Taylor and Jorge Molina, a Mephisto deal wipes Peter Parker’s identity from everyone’s memory. Banner forgets. Hulk doesn’t. Two minds, two different outcomes. In the MCU, Banner and Hulk have been fused as one since Endgame, but there’s been chatter about them separating again. If the movie leans into that, it could mirror the comic trick: Bruce is blank, Hulk remembers Peter.

What the footage allegedly shows (and what people are saying)

  • Peter scraping by in a tiny apartment and waking up cocooned in his own webbing. Grounded, grim, and very post-No Way Home.
  • Sadie Sink’s character telling him to back off, Tombstone-ish narration about spiders and rebirth, and Peter calling Banner for help.
  • Banner’s "You are not one of my students" line has social feeds dubbing him Professor Banner and treating Mark Ruffalo’s return as a done deal.
  • Multiple posts also claim Jon Bernthal’s Punisher shows up with: "Saving your a*s, can’t you see?!"
  • Some fans are uneasy about the timing if the movie tackles memory-rebirth themes and rolls out a black suit arc close together; they feel a bit thematically similar.

Sony is scrubbing the internet, which usually means it’s real

As the clips spread across X and Reddit, users reported DMCA takedowns and temporary account locks, per The Direct. That’s the same quick trigger Marvel Studios pulled just days ago for the Avengers: Doomsday leak. When the lawyers show up this fast, odds are the thing they’re chasing isn’t fake, even if the VFX in it aren’t finished.

The movie behind the leak

Title floating around the footage: Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is directing, with a theatrical date set for July 31, 2026. It’s Tom Holland’s first Spider-Man movie without Jon Watts, which tracks with the teaser’s stripped-down vibe. The leak paints a more personal, street-level story where Peter is isolated, desperate, and reaching across the wider MCU to stay afloat.

How the puzzle pieces could fit

If Hulk remembers Peter while Bruce doesn’t, that’s a clean, character-based way to poke a hole in Strange’s spell without breaking it wide open. It also lines up with the professor angle fans heard in the audio. Add Punisher storming in with "Saving your a*s, can’t you see?!" and the movie starts to feel like a bruising crossover that’s still very much about Peter’s day-to-day survival.

Outside the leak: set photos have hinted Zendaya’s MJ might cross Peter’s path again, and Star-Lord is still a question mark since he was off-planet during the spell. As for where you’ll watch this later, expect the usual Sony/Marvel window: theaters first, Disney+ after.

Where this leaves Peter (and us)

Sony hasn’t said anything officially yet, which historically means: something’s coming. If the final film uses Hulk as the memory loophole, that could feel earned. If not, this is one heck of an emotional fake-out. Should Hulk be the one who remembers Peter when no one else does? Or should the MCU keep him truly alone a while longer?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently dated for July 31, 2026.
