Hugh Howey Confirms Silo Season 2 2024 Release Date

When Apple TV+ dropped a trailer for Silo three months ago, few people could say it would be the network's next hit show. Back then, everyone was engrossed in following the third and last season of Apple's Ted Lasso, but as soon as it came to an end on May 31, Silo quickly became the talk of the town.

Based on Hugh Howey's novel series Wool, the new show portrays a post-apocalyptic future where the last survivors inhabit an underground bunker, the silo, in fear of the hostile outside world. The characters don't know what exactly led to the catastrophe or who built the place where they're hiding — but they know they're safe there, and their lives are truly fascinating to follow.

Silo's 10th and last episode has just aired, and its newly built massive fandom is already craving a second season. Fortunately, author Hugh Howey, who also serves as an executive producer for the series, has revealed that Silo Season 2 is already in the works, and the wait for the new installment won't be too long.

On the show's official Facebook group that the writer manages, one fan asked him directly when we should expect Season 2 to premiere, and Howey promptly replied that Silo would return to the small screen at some point in 2024. Naturally, fans went crazy over the announcement.

'While this is the best possible news, it feels sooooooo far away after watching that finale!' one Redditor wrote, echoing the sentiment of the rest of the fandom.

Despite Hugh Howey's reassuring words, some viewers are afraid that the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, as well as the looming actors' strikes, might indefinitely postpone the season's production. However, the scripts for the new Silo installment are said to be finished already, so we can at least hope that filming would wrap up before members of Screen Actors Guild decide to picket.
