The new release pattern of Bridgerton makes the fans choose between two pleasures.

Summary

  • Netflix tends to split its popular shows like Bridgerton in half.
  • With a month between the two parts of the show's third season, viewers can't decide how best to watch it.
  • Most Bridgerton fans say they don't have the self-control to wait for the entire season.

Among other things, the biggest difference between network TV shows and streaming service series is that you don't have to wait weeks or sometimes months between episodes. Netflix, for example, used to release entire seasons of their productions all at once, so you could pick a show and binge-watch it over the course of an evening. This was probably one of the reasons why the streaming service became so popular with millions of viewers around the world.

This was also true for the first two seasons of Netflix's hit show Bridgerton, which were released in 2020 and 2022, respectively. The period romance drama was an instant hit thanks to its captivating portrayal of Regency-era love stories combined with bold sex scenes. Sure, audiences tended to binge on the series when they were released. But things are about to change for the upcoming third season of Bridgerton.

A New Release Pattern

Unlike the first two installments of Bridgerton, the eight-episode Season 3 will be split in half. Part 1 will premiere on May 16th, while the rest of the season will be released on June 13th of this year, meaning that audiences will have to wait almost a month between the first and last four episodes of the third installment.

For this reason, many Bridgerton fans are contemplating the best way to watch Season 3, with some planning to wait for the entire season to be released and watch it all at once, and others ready to watch the season as soon as it premieres. And apparently the latter group is quite bigger.

The Bridgerton Fans' Ways of Watching Season 3

According to a recent Reddit poll, most Bridgerton fans can't contain their excitement to wait for Season 3 to be available, so they plan to watch Part 1 as soon as it's released. In addition, most viewers will probably watch the first four episodes of the third installment on repeat until the rest arrives.

'Watch it and then watch it at least 2 more times before the second part comes out,' one Ridditor wrote.

However, there are some more disciplined Bridgerton fans who want to protest Netflix's tendency to split popular shows by waiting for the entire third season to be released.

'I want to wait because I don't want to encourage Netflix to keep splitting 8 episode shows into 2,' another Reddit user shared.

Still, we all know how things are going to turn out... We'll all be bingeing on Part 1 of Bridgerton Season 3 as soon as it's released on May 16.
