Helldivers 2 x Killzone returns for keeps—and for free. Starting December 18, Arrowhead Game Studios is making the crossover a permanent Legendary Warbond packed with classic Helghast gear plus new extras, a sharp turn from last year’s limited, controversial rollout.
The Helldivers 2 x Killzone mash-up is finally back, and this time it isn’t a blink-and-you-miss-it store drop. Starting December 18, the collab returns as a permanent Legendary Warbond with all the Helghast-themed goodies from last year plus a few new extras. And yes, some players are getting the entire thing for free. Wild, I know.
When it lands, what it costs
The Legendary Warbond goes live on December 18 and will stick around permanently. The price is 1,500 Super Credits. No timers, no fear-of-missing-out nonsense.
Who gets it for free (and who doesn’t)
Arrowhead is making good with people who supported the original crossover last year. If you bought any Killzone item from the Super Store in December 2024 — literally one weapon or one cosmetic — the entire Legendary Warbond will auto-unlock for you at no extra cost. No hoops, no partial-refund math. It just unlocks, and anything you already owned will be marked as medal-unlocked inside the track.
There are a couple caveats:
If you only claimed the freebies from last year’s giveaway, you don’t qualify for the free Warbond. You can still buy it for 1,500 Super Credits, and those previously gifted items will already be unlocked inside it.
If you started playing after the Killzone gear rotated out last year, you’ll need to purchase the Warbond normally.
One more important constraint: you cannot claim this Legendary Warbond with a Premium Warbond token. It follows standard game progression. Once you unlock it, it’s yours for good.
What’s actually in the bundle
- Weapons (primary): - StA-52 assault rifle with a high-capacity drum mag - StA-11 SMG built for close-quarters burst fire - PLAS-39 Accelerator rifle, a high-precision burst-fire option
- Armor: - AC-1 Dutiful (heavy) - AC-2 Obedient (light) Both armors use the Acclimated passive, cutting incoming fire, gas, acid, and electrical damage by 50%. Each set comes with its own cape.
- Cosmetics: - Killzone-themed player cards - Assault Infantry player title - New Extrasolar Ash patterns for Exosuits, the Fast Recon Vehicle, Hellpods, and Pelican shuttles
Why this is different from last year
Last year’s crossover was a limited-time drop that caught some heat over pricing and availability. Arrowhead has clearly rethought the rollout: it’s permanent now, the pricing has been adjusted, and anyone who bought even one Killzone item in December 2024 gets the full Legendary Warbond free. That’s a pretty solid make-good.
