Months into their court saga, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni face a dramatic turn: newly unsealed July filings allege Lively has been hit with losses totaling $161 million, according to a November 7 report from People.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have been trading legal jabs for months, and now the dollar signs are finally landing. We also got a peek at a group text that drags in Rainn Wilson, plus some soft-focus gossip about Lively and Taylor Swift. Yes, it is a lot.

The money: Lively tallies up the damage

People reported on November 7, 2025 that newly unsealed July filings lay out what Lively says this feud has cost her so far. The short version: it is brutal, and it is tied to her issues with Baldoni, her It Ends With Us co-star, and Wayfarer Studios.

  • $56 million in lost earnings
  • $71 million in lost business profits
  • $34 million in reputational harm

On top of that, she is also pursuing additional damages, legal fees, and claims for emotional distress and humiliation. Those numbers are still being crunched and will be finalized after an expert review. If you are keeping score at home, that initial subtotal comes to $161 million.

Texts, fallout, and a very awkward night

Variety surfaced a January 5, 2024 group text that is one of those rare peeks behind the curtain where everyone forgets they are not in airplane mode. The chat included Justin Baldoni, Rainn Wilson (a longtime friend), Travis Van Winkle, Andy Grammer, and It Ends With Us producer Jamey Heath.

In that thread, Baldoni described what he called one of the hardest nights of his life, saying he and Heath had just spoken with Ryan Reynolds. Baldoni said he was labeled creepy and abusive, and that he was even handed scripted lines he was supposed to use in an apology. He said he struggled to process it and felt the situation was unjust.

Wilson responded with a full-throated boost. If there is a line that captures the tone of the night, it is this one:

"Oh my God. I can't believe it. You were set up and ambushed, and personally attacked. I'm stunned. I completely relate to you being stunned, like a deer in the headlights. Probably better that you didn't immediately just start apologizing."

"So grateful that Jamey is your partner and could step in diplomatically as needed. Onwards brother. Make a great and important, and entertaining piece of storytelling. That's all you can do now."

It is the kind of behind-the-scenes detail that makes your eyebrows touch your hairline. And it feeds right into where the case stands now: Lively's harassment claims are headed toward a March trial. Meanwhile, Baldoni's defamation suit was dismissed, and his attempt to shut down her case did not land.

Meanwhile: the Taylor Swift of it all

A separate thread here, per ShuterScoop on November 14, 2025: sources say Lively is finally exhaling a little after that defamation case got tossed. Allegedly, the months of chaos put distance between Lively and Taylor Swift as both tried to steer clear of friendly fire.

Now, those same sources say Lively thinks the storm is easing and she hopes to reconnect with the Cancelled! singer. Translation: she misses the easy back-and-forth they used to have. With Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce on the horizon, the lingering question is whether Lively lands on the guest list. If she does, that will be its own statement.

Big numbers, tense texts, and a friendship subplot. The legal fight is still very much alive, and the personal fallout is still being sorted out. More coming as the March trial approaches.
