After a three-year wait, adrenaline-fueled thriller Hijack is back for Season 2, bringing Idris Elba’s Sam Nelson into deadlier turbulence and leaving fans anxiously counting down to each new episode release.

All right, 'Hijack' is officially back, and yes, they made us wait three years for a Season 2. You might remember the Idris Elba thriller from 2023, where air travel got a whole lot more stressful thanks to a very bad day on a London-Dubai flight. People wanted more—and we’re finally getting it, with a few major changes to keep us guessing.

From Airplanes to...Berlin Trains?

Setting the scene: Season 2 pulls Idris Elba back as Sam Nelson, the world's most stressed-out corporate negotiator. This time, nobody’s flying anywhere—at least not on a plane. The story skips over to Berlin, where a mysterious hijacker has seized control of an underground train. So, new country, new vehicle, but the number of people in serious trouble? Still sky-high. We’re talking over 200 passengers at risk, so Sam’s back in full high-stress mode.

How Many Episodes and When Do They Drop?

This season is set for eight episodes, all dropping once a week. No two-at-once premiere like last time. Apple TV+ is keeping things simple: a steady Tuesday release every week, same time—6 p.m. PT, 9 p.m. ET.

  • Episode 1: January 14, 2026
  • Episode 2: January 20, 2026
  • Episode 3: January 27, 2026
  • Episode 4: February 3, 2026
  • Episode 5: February 10, 2026
  • Episode 6: February 17, 2026
  • Episode 7: February 24, 2026
  • Episode 8: March 3, 2026

Cast: Still Elba, Now With Germans

Of course, Idris Elba is back as Sam—honestly, hijackings should just stop whenever they see this guy show up. Joining him are a batch of new faces, including Albrecht Schuch, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Clare-Hope Ashitey. Expect tense negotiations and probably at least one scene where Sam has to calm down a frantic crowd (again).

Where Can You Watch?

Same as last time, Apple TV+ is your only option. If you haven’t checked out Apple’s other originals, this is where you’ll also find 'Severance', 'Silo', 'Shrinking', 'Dark Matter', and (eventually) whatever other high-budget concept Apple is workshopping on a whiteboard somewhere in Cupertino.

The Big Season 2 Pitch

'Expert negotiator Sam Nelson is in for the ride of his life—and so is everyone on board with him—after a group of hijackers take control. Sam will try every move in his playbook to take them down… as the stakes grow higher by the second.'

Translation: If you’re tuning in for quiet train rides and normal commutes, you’re probably on the wrong show.
