Here's the Creepy Reason People Are Weirded Out by Kevin Spacey So Much
Reddit theory suggesting Spacey's involvement in alleged victims' deaths shows his public reputation has significantly fallen.
Kevin Spacey was once a notable Hollywood actor with a prestigious career. After winning multiple Academy Awards and receiving various nominations, it would have been hard to believe he could have fallen so far out of favor.
Yet since several accusations of sexual assault have come to light after 2017, the famed actor has remained notably off-screen. Another recent trial has now spawned some unsettling theories regarding the actor online, only adding further speculation against him.
Allegations against Spacey
The first accusation of sexual assault was reported by Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp back in October 2017. Spacey was acquitted by a New York jury of the charges, finding that he did not molest Rapp as a teenager and was therefore not liable.
A further three individuals came forward after Rapp, who also claimed assault by Spacey of a sexual nature. However, the remaining charges against him were later dropped due to various circumstances involving the alleged victims. Four more charges have since been placed against Spacey, currently amid a trial in London. A verdict has yet to be reached; however, in previous interviews, Spacey has seemed confident that these charges will also be dropped.
The disturbing theory from Reddit
Although Spacey is yet to be convicted of any crimes, a disturbing conspiracy theory has recently emerged on Reddit, shedding light on suspicious circumstances surrounding some of Spacey's previous accusers.
Reddit users pointed out that four of the alleged victims have tragically died since coming forward about the alleged assaults. Some went as far as to insinuate that Spacey may have had a hand in their deaths. However, other users quickly dismissed the theory as baseless, pointing out that there is no reason to believe the deaths were to be considered linked or suspicious in nature. Despite the conspiratorial nature of the theory, it has undoubtedly contributed to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding Spacey.
The bewildering behavior and comparisons
Spacey's reputation has taken multiple hits, not only due to the allegations but also because of his perplexing behavior. The release of his bizarre 'Kill Them with Kindness' Christmas video, among other incidents, has left the public puzzled by his intentions.
One user even compared Spacey to one of his more formidable characters, Frank Underwood from House of Cards. Others think of him more akin to his role as Dave Harken from Horrible Bosses, however. This connection between his on-screen personas and the allegations against him only adds to the overall unease surrounding the actor.
It is clear that people are considerably less trusting of Kevin Spacey since the release of these multiple allegations. Despite being an award-winning and frequently cast actor in the past, these claims have evidently turned the public against him. It seems unlikely that he will be able to return to his previous acting status until he can step out of the shadow of his nefarious characters that some believe he has become. The unsettling theories and his perplexing behavior have only fueled the public's discomfort, which continues to cast a dark cloud over his once-glowing career.
