Helldivers 2 Players Finally Fix the Minigun’s Fatal Flaw — But There’s a Price

Helldivers 2 just dropped the Python Commandos Warbond, and the new toy everyone is obsessing over is the M-1000 Maxigun. It chews through crowds like a woodchipper with a caffeine problem. One hiccup: you have to root yourself to the ground to fire it. The community, being the community, cooked up a workaround that absolutely slaps... as long as you can live with the fine print.

The fix is wonderfully dumb and wildly effective: climb onto an Exosuit and let the mech do the walking while you do the shredding. Bugs, bots, squids — none of them get a breather when you turn the battlefield into a mobile turret platform.

You can't autopilot a mech. Someone has to drive while you hammer the trigger. That means this trick is fantastic in a duo or squad, and basically useless if you were hoping to lone-wolf it. If you play solo, you're back to planting your feet while you spin up the barrels. Maybe Arrowhead gives us a quality-of-life tweak down the line, but for now: bring a buddy or forget the mobile minigun fantasy.

The Maxigun is the headline for a reason — it's the game's first true minigun, and fans have been asking for it forever. The Warbond runs 1000 Super Credits and bundles a few other nasty toys and cosmetics:

• M-1000 Maxigun: the new heavy Stratagem and star of the show
• AX/FLAM 75 'Guard Dog': a drone that roasts anything dumb enough to get close
• CQC-9 Defoilation tool: yes, it's a chainsaw; yes, it shreds
• AR/GL-21 One Two: an assault rifle with a built-in grenade launcher
• Plus: new capes, player banners, an emote, a title, camo patterns, and armor sets

Bottom line

The M-1000 is a beast, but it's chained to the ground unless you pull the mech-rider trick. With a teammate, it's incredible. Solo? Still fun, just less mobile. If you're already eyeing the Python Commandos Warbond, the Maxigun alone might tip you over the edge.
