Helldivers 2 Minor Order Guide: Melt Oshaune’s Hive Lords in Record Time
Helldivers 2 just cranked the carnage: High Command wants 50,000 Hive Lord kills on Oshaune before the Major Order expires. The Gloom world already leads the war in body bags, and squads now have to farm 150,000‑HP burrowers at breakneck pace.
Helldivers 2 just tossed the community a dare: stack 50,000 Hive Lord bodies on Oshaune before the Major Order timer hits zero. Yes, on Oshaune — the Gloom-soaked meat grinder with the highest casualty rate in the whole war. Each of these burrowing nightmares has around 150,000 HP, so if the order sounds impossible, you are not alone.
"Tf they mean by 50k??, I can't even kill one 💀💀"
Good news: there are faster ways to kill them. Bad news: most of those ways involve exploding, repeatedly, in the name of Super Earth. Managed democracy doing what it does best.
Option 1: Blow yourself up for freedom (fastest)
This is the speedrun approach. The math is simple: on Oshaune, respawns are cheaper than wasted time. The whole squad becomes disposable ordnance trading lives for confirmed kills.
Option 2: Exosuits and patience (safer, steadier)
If you prefer fewer trips back to orbit, four Emancipator Exosuits can methodically peel a Hive Lord like a tin can. Not as quick, but much more consistent over a long session.
- Kamikaze loadout (kill speed over survival):
- Armor: IE-57 Hell-Bent/Righteous for a post-mortem anti-tank blast and +2 grenade capacity (you want extra Thermites).
- Primary: whatever helps with crowd control; you are not using it to delete the boss.
- Secondary: GP-20 Ultimatum, the heaviest-hitting sidearm in the kit.
- Throwable: G-123 Thermite, the best grenade for chewing through armor.
- Support weapon: MLS-4X Commando, four guided, fire-and-forget missiles you will happily waste.
- Stratagems: Orbital Laser to open, Eagle Strafing Run on repeat, B-100 Portable Hellbomb for the finale. - Kamikaze execution (what to do when the worm surfaces):
- Drop Orbital Laser tight on the target to start the burn.
- Empty the Commando’s missiles into its mouth region.
- Carpet the mid-section plates with Thermites.
- Slam Eagle Strafing Runs at its base every cooldown.
- Prime the Portable Hellbomb and sprint it straight into the beast. You will explode. That is the point.
- Respawn and repeat until the body stops wriggling.
- Read the terrain: ground ripples telegraph where it is tunneling, and these things love to breach right under you. Their bile spray blankets big chunks of the map, so never get comfy. - Exosuit method (slower, but it keeps your counter climbing):
- Bring four Emancipator Exosuits; dual Autocannons let you chip plates quickly when all guns focus the same spot.
- Squad gear to pack: G-123 Thermites for burst armor damage; Eagle Strafing Runs aimed at the base; GP-20 Ultimatum as backup punch; B-100 Portable Hellbomb as insurance; solid primaries/secondaries for bug control.
- Focus one armor plate at a time. The second it cracks, pour everything into the exposed flesh.
- Rotate around the Lord to dodge bile cones and slam attacks while maintaining continuous fire lanes.
- Mechs will let you survive hits that paste a regular trooper, but they are not invincible — Hive Lords can and will scrap them if you face-tank. - Throughput reality check:
- The kamikaze setup usually wins on kills-per-hour if your squad commits to the loop.
- The Exosuit plan shines for steady progress without the endless respawn churn, especially if your squad’s coordination is solid.
Oshaune is chaos, but there is a rhythm to it: watch for those ripples, punish the breach, and keep the ordnance flowing. If you are chasing that 50k community target, pick a lane — explode fast or grind steady — and stick to it.
How many Hive Lords have you bagged so far, and which approach is your squad running next?
