Harry Potter alum Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown, says she was barred from a fan convention because she has an OnlyFans, detailing her frustration in a candid Substack post.

Another day, another weird convention rule. Jessie Cave — Lavender Brown from the later Harry Potter films — says she was left off the guest list for a recent Potter fan event because she has an OnlyFans.

What happened

In a recent Substack post, Cave says organizers passed on booking her after finding out she started an OnlyFans account. According to her, the reasoning was that the con is aimed at families and the platform is seen as adult-only territory.

"They explained it was because it’s a family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn."

Cave called the logic baffling, pointing out that plenty of actors who do the convention circuit have done TV and film roles involving sex scenes or nudity. Meanwhile, the way she describes her own OnlyFans content is basically: she is playing with her hair. It’s one of those inside-baseball con decisions where the line between brand safety and reality gets blurry.

How she feels about it

She is not exactly heartbroken about skipping future Potter cons. Cave notes there’s a new Harry Potter series on the way with a fresh cast, and it feels like a different era anyway. She also says she has been doing conventions for over 15 years, has more than enough photos and wizard memorabilia, and that signing pictures was pretty much the only substantial money she ever made off the franchise. She’s grateful for those experiences — and ready to move on and play new characters.

Quick refresher: who she played

Cave joined the film series as Lavender Brown in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) — Ron Weasley’s short-lived girlfriend — and then had minimal screen time in the later movies.
