Guarantee Slytherin in Hogwarts Legacy With One Simple Choice
Want Slytherin in Hogwarts Legacy? Lock it in through the in-game Sorting Hat ceremony or by syncing your Wizarding World quiz—the fastest route to green-and-silver glory.
Want the green tie and the snake crest in Hogwarts Legacy? You have two routes: let the in-game Sorting Hat do its quick little ceremony, or go through the Wizarding World website and take their Sorting quiz. If you want to steer the result, the website route is the way to go.
How the quiz actually works
The Wizarding World Sorting quiz pulls from a pool of 28 prompts, but it will not throw all of them at you in a single run. You will see a small mix. To nudge the algorithm toward Slytherin, pick the options that lean ambitious, cunning, unbothered by rules, and a bit power-forward.
Pick these if you want Slytherin
- Left vs right? Left
- Dawn or dusk? Dusk
- White or black? Black
- Heads or tails? Tails
- Stars or moon? Moon
- River or forest? River
- When the once-a-century Flutterby bush lures you, it would smell like: The sea
- How do you want people to think of you after you are gone? I do not care what they think when I am dead; what matters is what they think while I am alive
- A troll is wrecking the Headmaster's office. Which do you save first, second, third? 1) A mysterious handwritten book of strange runes, 2) Student records from the last 1000 years, 3) A nearly perfected cure for dragon pox
- Four goblets sit in front of you. Drink: The inky black liquid that gleams and gives off fumes that trigger strange visions
- A classmate cheated with a Self-Spelling Quill and beat you in Charms; Professor Flitwick is suspicious. Do what? You would tell the truth before the exam even starts
- Late at night you hear a weird, clearly magical cry. Your move: Draw your wand and stand your ground
- A river troll blocks a bridge and demands a duel with one of you. Plan: Have all three of you fight (without warning the troll)
- Four boxes invite you to open them. Pick: The jet-black box with a silver lock and key, marked by a rune you recognize as Merlin's
- A Muggle confronts you and says you are a witch or wizard. Response: Agree, and offer a free sample of a jinx
- How do you want to be known to history? The Great
- Which instrument is most pleasing? Violin
- If you could have any power, choose: Change the past
- What do you find hardest to deal with? Being ignored
- Which pet would you bring to Hogwarts? A black cat
- Which subject would you most like to study? Vampires
- What are you most excited to learn at Hogwarts? Hexes and jinxes
- Which nightmare hits hardest? Being forced to speak in such a silly voice that no one understands you and everyone laughs
- Would you rather be: Feared (Envied can also push Slytherin on some question paths)
- If you could invent a guaranteed-effect potion, it would grant: Power
- Which road tempts you most? The narrow, dark alley lit by lanterns
- Which insult would you hate most? Ordinary
Does your house change the game much?
'Your house does not really make a difference in Hogwarts Legacy.'
That is the truth. The main story and the core cast stay the same no matter what scarf you wear. The differences are more flavor than function: a house-specific quest, your own common room location, and house-colored uniforms and insignia. Pick the vibe you want, not the meta you think you need.
If these answers landed you in Slytherin, congrats. If your quiz threw different prompts at you, stick with the same energy: ambition over modesty, mystery over comfort, power over popularity.
