The Graham Norton Show is officially back, and this season’s lineup is packed with Hollywood heavyweights. Find out when to tune in and which A-listers will be joining Graham on the famous red sofa.

Graham Norton is back. The big red chair returns later this month with a sofa full of A-listers and a musical performance that already sounds like a bit. Yes, the last run ended with Graham himself missing from his own show; we will get to that.

When and where

'The Graham Norton Show' is set to return on Friday 26 September at 10:40pm on BBC One, with the episode also landing on iPlayer.

Who is on the couch

  • Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, dropping by to talk about their upcoming sports biopic 'The Smashing Machine'.
  • Matthew McConaughey, promoting his new thriller 'The Lost Bus'.
  • Aimee Lou Wood, chatting about her new BBC series 'Film Club'.
  • RAYE, performing her new single 'Where Is My Husband!'

The recent host swap, explained

If you caught the most recent batch of episodes back in March, you might remember the slightly surreal twist: familiar faces on the couch, but no Graham in the penultimate and final installments. 'The Traitors' host Claudia Winkleman stepped in as guest presenter while Graham took off on an Australia tour. It was not a stealth handover; he actually flagged it on the show (while Claudia was a guest) before he left.

"Claudia does have another little job coming up. Because, at the end of this series I'm popping off to do a tour of Australia and my seat is going to be filled for one week only by none other than Claudia Winkleman."

So, no mystery there. It was a planned, one-week cover that just happened to land at the end of the run, which made it feel more chaotic than it was.

The short version

New series, stacked couch, late slot. 'The Graham Norton Show' returns Friday 26 September at 10:40pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
